Vince McMahon resigned as government chairman of WWE guardian firm TKO Group (NYSE:TKO) amid an alleged intercourse abuse scandal.

McMahon will defend himself towards the claims however will step down “out of respect” for TKO and the WWE enterprise, in line with media experiences, which cited an announcement on Friday.

“I needed to tell you that Vince McMahon has tendered his resignation from his positions as TKO government chairman and on the TKO board of administrators,” WWE Presidnt Nick Khan wrote in an all-staff e mail, in line with CBSsports report. “He’ll now not have a task with TKO Group Holdings or WWE.”

The newest allegations come as McMahon first stepped down from his CEO and chairman roles in June 2022, amid a rising barrage of misconduct allegations, together with secret multimillion-dollar settlements. Final January, McMahon returned to the chairmanship of WWE.

McMahon’s exit from TKO Group (TKO) comes after a giant week for the corporate after saying a $5B plus take care of Netflix (NFLX) and the appointment of wrestling and performing star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to the board. The information despatched shares of TKO hovering 16% on Tuesday.

TKO is the results of the merger of World Wrestling Leisure, previously its personal public firm, with Endeavor Group’s (EDR) fight sports activities model UFC.
