(Reuters) – The U.S. Central Command stated on Saturday that U.S. forces performed strikes in self-defense in opposition to six Houthi anti-ship cruise missiles ready to launch in opposition to ships within the Purple Sea.

U.S. forces recognized the cruise missiles in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen and decided they introduced an imminent menace to U.S. Navy ships and service provider vessels within the area, the assertion added.
